They came, they saw, they nibbled…..
WHICH innovations will win a Product of the Year Award 2019? Following our Jury Day, we are one step closer to finding out.
The great and good from the consumer world has now gathered in one room to put our 2019 contenders through their paces.
Experts from the media, blogging world, product development and retail prodded, poked, touched and tasted the entries for our awards, before scoring each one.
This wasn’t just an excuse to nibble treats, sip drinks, and smooth on beauty products – although of course that had to be done in the name of rigorous research. Armed with a pen and clipboard, each member of our jury put dozens of products through their paces, giving the highest points those that bring something new and exciting to the supermarket shelves, and ultimately to people’s lives.
As always, with all the entries laid out for judgement, some distinct trends emerged. This year there was a clear shift towards items tailored-made for today’s health-conscious shopper. Innovations in dairy-free, decaffeinated, gluten-free and vegan products were definitely a theme throughout Jury Day.
It was great to see some of our past winners putting forward their latest innovations, as well as welcoming some new brands to Product of the Year. With 15 years of experience championing the UK’’s most innovative products, winning brands see an average 10-15% uplift in sales, we’re proud to work with some of the biggest names in the business.
Those with the highest scores from the Jury Day will now be put through to the next stage of judging: Rigorous consumer research with more than 10,000 members of the British public by our market research partner Kantar TNS.
But who will those winners be? Once the Great British public has had its say, we’ll reveal all at our awards ceremony on January 24 2019. Watch this space!
