Product of the Year is the UK’s largest consumer survey of product innovation. For more information, click here.
Unlike any other innovation award, we survey real shoppers and our winners are 100% consumer voted. With over 10,000 households surveyed each year, shoppers have confidence in the Product of the Year award as the research is robust and completely independent. The research provides invaluable insight into your market and winning provides you with a sales and marketing tool proven to offer great return on investment and increased sales of up to 135%.
We are open for entries for any product launched between January 2017 and October 2018 which demonstrates innovation in function, recipe, design, packaging, or any other area! It doesn’t have to be revolutionary – we’re about innovation, not invention! – but should provide a benefit to the consumer. All products must be in market by November 2018 as this is when we carry out consumer research.
If you’re not sure whether or not your product is eligible, please give us a call on 0207 580 8197 and we’d be happy to assist.
We are currently open for 2019 entries and will be closing on 31st July 2018. Jury Day is 12th September and consumer research takes place from Jury Day to October-November. Winners are revealed in November and publically announced at our awards show on 24th January 2019.
Of course – there are no limits to the number of products which may be entered from each company. If you have several eligible products, but are not sure which are the best ones to put forward, feel free to give us a call on 0207 580 8197 – we would be happy to advise.
All entered products go before our Jury, who select a shortlist of top products to be taken through into consumer research. Then, over 10,000 shoppers vote in our research, which is run by Kantar TNS. Jury Day is 12th September and consumer research takes place in September-October. Winners are revealed in November and publically announced at our awards show on 24th January 2019. For more information, check out our detailed Process page.

Product of the Year operates a two-tier cost system so you never pay without getting a good return on investment. Entry is free. If your product is selected by our Jury to go through into consumer research, there is a research fee of £3750 – this covers the cost of research, and whatever the outcome, you will receive a full copy of this research.
Should you be voted category winner, the cost is £16,000. As well as receiving all the research, you will be able to use the Product of the Year logo across all marketing, communications and packaging for 12 months following your win. You will also receive the unparalleled benefits of our PR, worth over £700,000.
All winners are guaranteed the following:
License to use the logo across all marketing, communications, and advertising for 12 months in the UK & ROI – a proven marketing tool with great ROI, as winners typically see sales increase by 10-15%.
Extensive media coverage worth over £700,000, including features in The Sun, Woman’s Own, Netmums, Campaign, and many more bloggers and vloggers.
All entrants, whatever the result, receive a full research report conducted by Kantar TNS, valued at over £10,000.
Product of the Year is active in over 40 countries around the world, including UK, USA, Canada, India, South Africa, Australia, and Europe. If you win in the UK, you can leverage your win across the UK and ROI. If you are interested in entering in any other countries around the world, please contact us.
We are partnered with Kantar TNS, the world’s largest consumer research company, to ensure our research is robust and impartial. Over 10,000 consumers vote across all products and categories – assessing product appeal, satisfaction, and innovation.
Product categories aren’t fixed at Product of the Year, as they depend on the innovation pipeline each year. Last year we ran 50 categories encompassing Food, Household, Pet, Beauty, and Electricals – so whatever product innovation you have, we’re sure to have a category for you!
Each category contains 2-6 products, to ensure a genuine competition for the consumer, as well as reflecting the choice made in the supermarket aisle.
You cannot withdraw your product once it has entered, as this may jeopardise the category due to the nature of the research. Therefore we recommend only completing the entry form when you’re ready and have authorisation to do so, and after you have read the terms & conditions in full.
