Fit For A King!

Fit For A King!

We take a look at some of the best brand regal makeovers that are without doubt fit for a King…

If the bunting, flags and cheer tell us anything, it’s that there’s cause for celebration. The Coronation is less than 24 hours away and we’re ready for the festivities to begin. And you have to hand it to them, the UK’s much-loved brands have really stepped up to the plate…

Royal-tea comes in a cup this Coronation with Sainsbury’s special edition Earl Grey tea bags. But if you’re looking for something to cheers with, look no further than a glass of the Coronation edition tipples launched by Chapel Down, Moet & Chandon (make mine a magnum!) and Hayman’s gin, best drunk with a Double Dutch tonic from the Coronation Party Starter Pack. Product branding is a cheery swirl of flags, monarchy and familiar Brit iconography.

We at Product of the Year applaud this kind of quick, fleeting innovation which although lasts just for a weekend, lives on in our memories and cupboards!

Colin the Caterpillar, an M&S icon and a feature of many a kid’s party, has had a royal makeover or alternatively there’s Waitrose’s Jewel The Jack Russell Cake. Deciding who gets to eat the chocolate crown will be tussle in any household. But it’s heritage brand Heinz that has taken the crown this year with ‘Kingchup’ with branding edited to impress.

Emotional, memorable, nostalgic, the best products tap into all the feels and help make it a day to remember. And who knows, perhaps one day these will become collector’s items. Let’s raise a glass to the memories to come.
