Time for Tea!

This week is Afternoon Tea Week and to mark the occasion, Product of the Year is taking a look at the products that have given new meaning to a very British institution.

Who doesn’t love a good cuppa? But when it comes to afternoon tea, Britain reigns supreme. The sound of the kettle going, the clatter of China teacups and the aroma of a freshly baked Victoria sponge… we wouldn’t have it any other way.

So, in celebration of Afternoon Tea week, we’re taking a look back at some of our finest tea-time innovations…

Over recent years, Yeo Valley Organic Milk 1L, Cadbury Caramilk Bars and Mr Kipling Minis Range have all stepped up to the plate winning Product of the Year awards. And whether you like your tea with milk, without or you’re simply more about the sweet treats, there’s something for everyone.

Vegetarian/vegan? Our 2023 winner, Crackd The No Egg Egg, and 2017 winner Flora Freedom are the perfect addition to a cake or biscuit batter.

Going back a little further, Cadbury triumphed in 2019 with their heroic Heroes Cupcakes and bagged awards alongside Fuze Iced Tea and Clover Light (buttered scones with tea – who can beat it?!).

And pre-pandemic afternoon tea winners were a medley of recognisable names with Yorkshire Tea Speciality Brews, Asda Cookie Dough and Paul Hollywood Brownie Baking Kit – for the perfect tea-time snack.

Fortunately, there’s still plenty of time to enter Product of the Year 2024. So, put the kettle on, feet up and relax… We’re here to help your product(s) shine!
