Christmas with a Conscience

Christmas with a Conscience

It’s officially festive season and if you haven’t yet done your Christmas shopping… then you probably should make a start! This year, themes of thoughtfulness, generosity and social awareness have come to the fore. 2023 is the year of the conscious Christmas and we’re here for it.

Festive favourite Quality Street has enlisted the services of former football great (any Liverpool fans?) John Barnes who raps to remind us to recycle our wrappers in their new ad. The message is clear, it’s cool to be careful when it comes to waste or as Barnes says: “recycling? Yeah, that’s man’s ting!”

Eco-conscious vegetarian and vegan diners will be glad of the options with alternative Turkey, pork and chicken brands that could rival the real deal. Former Product of the Year winners Crackd The No-Egg Egg substitute is a great alternative to Christmas morning scrambled eggs and Ben’s Plant Powered pouches bring a touch of spice to cold December days while keeping these veggie.

Generosity has been a theme in many of the big Christmas ads, but Iceland this year has really put its money where its mouth is by forgoing an expensive ad to reinvest the money back into stores to keep products affordable for customers. It’s a cost-of-living measure that we wholeheartedly approve of.

This Christmas, we’re bringing good tidings to you, your kin and the planet.
