08 Oct Ones to Watch: Tipples for the times
There’s a party happening in off licence fridges and supermarkets across the country and it comes in a can. How convenient. Ready-to-drink is the growth engine of UK alcohol NPD right now, with three brands are leading the conga line…
BuzzBallz
What’s a night out without one of these guys? Small, round and colourful, these twinkling boozy baubles have caught the eye of UK consumers fast, racking up £81.8m in value sales with growth of 826.8%. With new flavours and sized up bottles seemingly cropping up all the time, the brand is certainly keeping its ball in play. Expect exotic flavour twists too, as yuzu, dragon fruit and fig push berry off the podium. Never fear the BuzzBall is here.
Moth
If BuzzBallz is the party starter, Moth is the dinner party. The premium canned cocktail has clocked £25.9m in sales, up 74.5%, thanks to shoppers happily paying a little extra for bar-quality convenience at home. Newer flavours in Mango Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri give us another reason to leave the cocktail shaker in the cupboard. Cheers to that.
Captain Morgan x Pepsi Max
At Product of the Year, we’re no stranger to a drinks mash-up (looking at you, Jack Daniel’s and Coca Cola). This one brings together two giants of the drinks world and a popular mixer that resonates through the generations – rum and coke for those unfamiliar. This is a core house party drink as we head into winter but also a delight for sunny picnics if the weather holds out for this unseasonably warm October.
Three stars of the canned cocktails and mixers category shine bright… but who will be the shiniest of them all at Product of the Year?
We’re not sure, but all we know is the party’s only just getting started. Get your entry in today before it’s too late.
