28 Nov Here Comes Black Friday…
It’s that time of year again where many of us are quietly panicking about the Christmas shopping, we haven’t yet started. TGIBF (Thank God It’s Black Friday) . The trustiest day in the retail calendar. A day on which deals for practically any product become available – be it a NutriBullet (25% off), iPhone or Glossier lipstick.
This year it falls on 29th November. A day etched into the memories of retailers the world over. Brands and retailers are busy warming up for the big event. Some like to get a head start – 11 days early to be exact. Amazon, Currys PC World, John Lewis and Argos have all launched deals early, giving a teaser of what’s to come on the day.
These days, many of us are avoiding high street scraps over bargains and opting to shop from the safety of our own homes. More and more businesses are investing in their website tech to avoid a fate like Amazon’s awkward Prime Day crash moments after launching last year. Amazon dominates online sales during Black Friday, which is no surprise considering the e-tailer introduced the event to the UK. Last year, it made up over a quarter of the entire retail industry in the Black Friday to Christmas period. You can even get this year winner in the Kids Tech Category Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Tablet for a bargain £84.99 (RRP £129.99) so a £45 saving!
The products people will be scrambling to buy are the innovators – household goods that make our lives easier, tech that teaches us something and health & beauty products that make us question how we’d ever lived without it. Just the kind of products that we rate at Product of the Year. Next up, Cyber Monday…
