The sun is shining and it feels like summer has finally arrived. 

In honour of the good weather (after months of rain), we’re taking a look at Product of the Year’s top summer drinks to keep you cool in the heat… 

One of our favourite innovations over recent years is the hard seltzer. An American import and a riff on the wine spritzer, this drink blends spirits, fizzy water, and fruity flavours. White Claw, one of the leading brands in the category, triumphed last year by winning an award for its mango-flavoured hard seltzer drink. Bringing just a hint of natural flavouring, this is as subtle as it comes.

Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin is a summer party staple and a real throwback – winning the alcohol category of our 2018 awards. We love the rose hue and the fruity mix of strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant that create a slightly sweet and tangy flavour. Paired with a Fever Tree tonic, citrus and lots of ice, you can’t go wrong.

Cider on a sunny day might be more your style. If so, reach for Inch’s Medium Apple Cider. A crisp classic that uses 100% English apples and, my, we can certainly taste it. This is a refreshing cooler that satisfies the tastebuds. And you know how much we like pink drinks, we couldn’t not mention Strongbow rosé cider. A precursor to Strongbow Wild Berries and the newly launched Strawberry flavour – our One to Watch last week – this rosé cider has a light blush and a subtle flavour.
